Consumer promotions on Reward Max let brands reward shoppers instantly — through scan-and-win codes on packs, cashback to UPI, or digital vouchers sent by link — with duplicate checks, KYC and analytics built in.
- Unique codes and reward links
- Cashback to UPI and bank
- Duplicate and velocity checks
The basics
What makes a consumer promotion work
A consumer promotion has seconds to make an impression. The shopper scans, enters a code or clicks a link, and expects something to happen straight away. Delays, broken links or rewards that never arrive turn a promotion into a complaint.
Promotions are also where misuse concentrates: codes shared online, repeat claims and scripted entries. Checks need to run on every entry without slowing down real customers.
Reward Max handles both: instant digital delivery in under 3 seconds and anomaly detection on every claim.

Best practice
Running promotions without leakage
Use unique codes, not a single shared code. Unique codes make duplicate claims easy to catch and stop codes spreading online.
Cap rewards per person and per period, and watch velocity. A sudden spike from one device or location is usually worth a look.
Capture the data. Every claim tells you who bought, where and when — first-party data most consumer brands never get from retail.
- Unique codes per pack
- Caps per person and period
- Velocity checks
- First-party data from every claim
Designing it
Designing a consumer promotion that pays out cleanly
Start with the behaviour you want: trying a new pack, buying a larger size, repeat purchase in a season. Then choose the mechanic — scan-and-win, cashback or an instant reward — and the reward mix that makes it worth taking part.
Unique codes and QR codes on packs make promotions trackable. Each code can only be used once, and duplicate-scan protection stops the same code from paying out twice.
Set a budget cap and an end date before launch, and decide what happens when the budget runs out, so the promotion ends cleanly instead of disappointing customers.
- Pick one behaviour to change
- Use single-use codes on packs
- Cap the budget and set an end date
- Plan the end of the promotion
Measuring it
What to measure in a consumer promotion
Track participation, redemption and cost per redemption daily while the promotion runs, so you can adjust rewards or communication early.
Every scan or code also tells you something about your customers — where they bought, and when. Build that first-party data into planning for the next promotion.
After the promotion, compare sales in the promotion period with a similar earlier period, and look at whether participants came back.
