Reward Max · Platform
Rewards built into your app and workflows
The Reward Max rewards API is a set of REST APIs, SDKs, webhooks and embeddable storefronts that let you send rewards, gift cards and payouts from your own app, website, LoyaltyBoard or any third-party platform — with KYC, fraud checks and TDS handled by Reward Max.
- REST APIs and SDKs
- Webhooks for events
- Embeddable storefronts
Why an API
Why teams use a rewards API instead of building one
Sending a reward looks simple until you build it: a catalogue to source and maintain, delivery across channels, fraud checks, identity verification, tax deduction and reports for finance. A rewards API gives product teams all of that behind a few calls.
Your systems stay in charge of when a reward is earned. Reward Max takes care of what happens next — choosing and delivering the reward, checking it, and recording it for compliance.
Because Reward Max integrates natively with LoyaltyBoard and connects to third-party loyalty systems, points from any source can be redeemed against the same catalogue.

Best practice
Integrating rewards cleanly
Decide which system owns the earning rule. Keep the logic for when a reward is due in one place — usually your product or LoyaltyBoard — and let Reward Max own delivery and compliance.
Use webhooks rather than polling. Webhooks tell your system when a reward is delivered or redeemed, so your records stay in step without repeated checks.
Test with real-looking data before go-live, including edge cases such as failed KYC or a recipient crossing the TDS threshold.
- One owner for earning rules
- Webhooks for status
- Test failure and threshold cases
- Let Reward Max own compliance
Planning it
Planning a rewards API integration
Start by listing the events that should trigger a reward: a purchase in your app, a completed survey, a referral, a target hit in your sales system. For each event, decide the reward, who receives it and what checks must pass first.
Use webhooks to keep your systems in step with Reward Max — for example to update your app when a reward is redeemed or delivered. An embeddable storefront lets members browse and redeem inside your own app or website.
Reward Max integrates natively with LoyaltyBoard and connects to third-party loyalty systems through REST APIs and webhooks, so points from any source can be redeemed in one place.
- List the events that trigger rewards
- Decide the checks each reward needs
- Use webhooks to stay in sync
- Embed the storefront in your app
Running it
Operating rewards through the API
Treat rewards as financial transactions. Log every request, handle retries carefully so a reward isn't sent twice, and reconcile regularly against Reward Max reports.
Fraud detection and KYC still apply to API-triggered rewards: suspicious redemptions, duplicates and velocity abuse are flagged, and cash rewards go to validated accounts.
TDS tracking applies too. Reward Max tracks reward value per recipient across the financial year, which matters when rewards come from several systems at once.
