LoyaltyBoard feature
Tiers that reward consistency, not one-off volume
Multi-tier programs in LoyaltyBoard group members into levels — such as Silver, Gold and Platinum — based on rules you set, with slab-based earning, automatic tier upgrades and benefits that get better at each level. They are included in every LoyaltyBoard plan.
- Slab-based earning rules
- Automatic tier upgrades and reviews
- Different benefits and catalogues by tier
The basics
What is a multi-tier loyalty program?
A multi-tier loyalty program sorts members into levels based on what they do over time — usually purchase volume, scans or points earned in a period. Each level unlocks better earning rates, rewards or recognition, so members have a reason to keep going after their first reward.
Tiers work especially well in Indian channel and influencer programs, where a small group of dealers, retailers or tradespeople drive a large share of sales. A tier structure lets you recognise and protect those members without giving the same budget to everyone.
In LoyaltyBoard, tier rules sit alongside your schemes. Members can earn on slabs within a tier, move up when they qualify, and see exactly what they need to reach the next level in the app or on WhatsApp.

Design tips
How to design tiers members will chase
Keep the number of tiers small. Three or four levels are easy to understand; more than that and members stop knowing where they stand. Name tiers in a way that means something in your channel, and show members their progress every time they earn.
Make the gap between tiers achievable. If the top tier is out of reach for almost everyone, it motivates almost no one. Look at how your partners are spread today and set thresholds that a meaningful share of members can realistically reach with extra effort.
Decide how and when tiers are reviewed. Members should know how long a tier lasts and what happens if their activity drops. Clear rules avoid disputes and keep top partners working to hold their status.
- Three or four tiers, clearly named
- Thresholds a real share of members can reach
- Visible progress after every earn
- Benefits that matter to each audience
- Clear rules for tier reviews
Designing it
Getting tier thresholds right
Set thresholds so the first upgrade is reachable for most active members and the top tier is a real achievement. If almost nobody reaches the second tier, it stops motivating anyone.
Make tier benefits visible and specific — better earning rates, exclusive rewards or faster support — and show each member how far they are from the next tier.
Review tiers at least once a year using real member data, and give members notice before thresholds change.
- Make the first upgrade reachable
- Make benefits specific and visible
- Show distance to the next tier
- Review annually with notice
